MISSION
STEAM Milwaukee's Lend-a-Lab Program makes joyful, hands-on learning materials for science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics accessible to every student, every day.
MODEL
STEAM Milwaukee’s Lend-a-Lab program is a resource library and educator learning hub to support hands-on STEAM activities. We rent out hands-on kits (e.g., classroom sets of LEGO Spike Prime robots, micro-controllers, scientific probes and sensors, math activities, a portable MakerCart) for 1-6 weeks at a time along with lesson plans, slides, and handouts. We maintain, organize, deliver, and collect the materials, saving schools and teachers time and money and reducing the environmental impact of electronics-based kits. We also offer educator learning opportunities (e.g., professional development workshops, individualized consulting) to help educators feel confident using these materials with their learners.
